Imaginamos que la cuenta corriente de Courtney Love debe andar bajo mínimos ya que según ha reconocido al New Musical Express no descarta hacer un musical dedicado al que fuese su marido, Kurt Cobain.
Tras ser inundada por toneladas de mensajes y posts en redes sociales de fans de Nirvana presionando para que se haga realidad un musical, tanto Frances como yo hemos pensado largo y tendido que, si logramos tirar a lo más alto y elegimos un equipo de guionistas, productores y directores de lo mejor y más respetado, entonces es muy probable que se haga un musical de Broadway.
Tendría que haber una historia, una gran historia, una que no se haya contado antes. Dedicaría incontables horas con un equipo de primera para crear un proyecto que reflejara a Kurt del modo más honesto posible, de modo que su historia, su música y su legado pueda resucitar en el escenario no solo para que el mundo lo vea sino aún más importante, que lo vea nuestra hija. Sé que el espíritu de su padre estará en ese escenario y estar en ese escenario con ella será la experiencia más emocional de nuestras vidas.

Courtney Love has claimed that she will stage a Kurt Cobain-themed musical if she can get the right people involved.
Love speaks as part of NME‘s tribute to Kurt Cobain on the 20th anniversary of the Nirvana frontman’s death, on newsstands and available digitally from tomorrow (April 2).
In the piece, Love opens up about the anniversary and reveals ambitious plans for her late husband’s legacy, including a biopic, documentary and play. Love states that it has been fans’ reactions to the possibility of a stage production involving Cobain’s story which has made it now «very likely» to happen.
«After being swarmed by tons of Nirvana fanmail and social media posts pushing for a musical to become a reality, both Frances [Bean Cobain, Kurt and Courtney’s daughter] and I have thought long and hard and agreed that if we can reach up to the highest shelf and select a team of the greatest and most respected writers, producers and directors, then a Broadway musical is very likely to happen,» says Love.
She continues: «There would have to be a story, and a great story, one that hasn’t been told before. I would devote countless hours with an A-team to create a project that reflects Kurt in the most respectful but honest way possible, so that his story, his music and his legacy can be resurrected on stage for not only the world to see, but more importantly for our daughter to see. I know her father’s spirit will be on that stage, and sitting in that theatre with her will be the most emotional experience of our lives.»
Elsewhere in the issue, musicians who recorded Cobain’s favourite albums (including members of Pixies, Wipers, Gang Of Four, The Vaselines and The Slits) celebrate his legacy.

El batería de Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins, ha explicado a la WRIF (vía Alternative Nation), como avanza la creación del nuevo disco de la banda.
«Aún no hemos terminado. Aún estamos como a mitad de un proyecto y no puedo hablar de lo que es. No sé qué habéis oído y tal. Trato de que siga siendo algo relajado. Lo único que puedo deciros es que, y esto es la verdad por Dios santo, que ahora como banda, más que nunca, podemos meternos en un estudio y grabar una canción como queramos, tan rápido como queramos, dando lo mejor de nosotros y eso es un avance… Como banda estamos tocando mejor que nunca. Eso lo sé. Lo noto. Lo oigo y eso es lo más importante y es maravilloso».

Though its members have also been working on some individual projects, Foo Fighters continue to make progress on their eighth album, the follow-up to 2011’s «Wasting Light.»
There’s been all sorts of speculation about what the quintet is up to, including recording at several legendary studios, but drummer Taylor Hawkins tells us that for now the Foos are keeping things close to the vest:
«We’re not done yet. We’re still kind of in the middle of a project, and I can’t really discuss what it is. I don’t know what you heard or whatever, and I just want to be safe. Whatever you’ve heard, OK. I’m trying to keep it kind of mellow. The only thing I can tell, you, and this is the God’s honest truth, is that we as a band more so than ever can walk into a studio and record a song anyway we want, as quick as we want, to the best of our ability, and that’s a development…As a band we’re playing better than we’ve ever played. I just know it. I can feel it. I can hear it, and that’s the most important thing and it’s awesome.»

El Rock Fantasy Camp tomará un giro alternativo este verano.
Todavía en la mente la pre – ceremonia del Rock And Roll Hall of Fame con Gene Simmons y Tommy Thayer, el campamento de Las Vegas traerá al guitarrista de Alice in Chains, Jerry Cantrell , al guitarrista de Stone Temple Pitlos Dean DeLeo y a Stephen Perkins de Jane’s Addiction para una sesión que irá del 31 de julio hasta el 3 deagosto en el Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, terminando con una actuación en vivo de los campistas y consejeros en el House of Blues en el interior de las instalaciones.
Los consejeros – ayudantes habituales Peter Klett de Candlebox y Rudy Sarso ( Quiet Riot , Blizzard of Ozz , Whitesnake, etc ) también estarán allí, y se espera que consejeros adicionales sean anunciados en una fecha posterior .

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Fantasy Camp will take an alternative turn this summer.
Hot off a pre-Rock and Roll Hall of Fame edition with Kiss’ Gene Simmons and Tommy Thayer, the Las Vegas-based camp will bring in Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell, Stone Temple Pilots six-stringer Dean DeLeo and Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins for a session that runs July 31-Aug. 3 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, wrapping up with a live performance by campers and counselors at the House of Blues inside the facility.
Regular counselors Peter Klett from Candlebox and Rudy Sarso (Quiet Riot, Blizzard of Ozz, Whitesnake, etc.) will also be there, and additional counselors are expected to be named at a later date.
The camp’s «curriculum» will focus on an alt-rock repertoire, founder and CEO David Fishof tells Billboard, running through songs by Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and Smashing Pumpkins as well as the counselors’ own bands.

Michael Stipe, quien fuese frontman de REM, se encargará de presentar la entrada de Nirvana en el Salón de la Fama del Rock And Roll, según se ha hacía saber ayer. Stipe fue buen amigo del fallecido Kurt Cobain e incluso llegó a ser el padrino de la hija de Cobain y Courtney Love, Frances Bean.
Por otro lado, Bruce Springsteen se encargará de presentar a la E Street Band que también pasará a ser parte del salón mientras que Tom Morello hará lo propio con Kiss, o quienes se dignen a acudir, después de las peleas que sus distintos miembros han mantenido para ver quien acudía y quien no.
El frontman de Coldplay, Chris Martin, presentará a Peter Gabriel, Glenn Frey de The Eagles dará entrada a Linda Ronsdadt que recibirá un tributo con la actuación de Stevie Nicks, Carrie Underwood, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow y Bonnie Raitt. Hall And Oates serán presentados por Questlove y Peter Asher anunciará la entrada de Brian Epstein y Andrew Loog Oldham
La ceremonia se celebrará el 10 de abril en el Brooklyn Barclays Center aunque no será emitida por TV hasta el 31 de mayo, en la HBO.

Coldplay’s Chris Martin will pay tribute to Peter Gabriel, and Glenn Frey of the Eagles will induct his former bandleader Linda Ronstadt. Stevie Nicks, Carrie Underwood, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow and Bonnie Raitt will perform a tribute to the singer.
Questlove of the Roots will pay tribute to Hall and Oates, and Peter Asher is will induct Brian Epstein and Andrew Loog Oldham.
This year’s event marks the first time the general public has been able to attend the ceremony in New York City. Previously, the closed ceremony took place in New York’s Waldorf Astoria’s grand ballroom.
