Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins To Play On New SIXX: A.M. Album

El batería de Foo Fighters, Taylor Hawkins, tocará en el nuevo disco de Sixx: AM, de acuerdo con el bajista de Motley Crue y el creador de Sixx: AM Nikki Sixx.

«Realmente emocionado, Taylor Hawkins va a tocar en algunas canciones del nuevo álbum de SixxAm. ¡Qué honra, ya que él él es uno de mis baterías favoritos,» Sixx tuiteó.

La banda ha lanzado un par de canciones que aparecerán en el nuevo disco, aún sin título, a través de su Facebook, «Let It Haunt You» y «Relief.». El próximo álbum será el tercer disco de estudio de la banda, siguiendo a su disco de 2007 The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack y al de 2011 This Is Gonna Hurt.

«Creo que a los fans de SIXX:AM les va a encantar este disco y creo que mucha gente nueva se hará nuestros fan porque se sentirán sorprendidos por él», Sixx contó a Revolver. «No creo que nuestros dos primeros discos suenen igual, pero yo creo que hay un sonido en la banda y creo que vamos a continuar con esa tradición.»

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins will play on the new Sixx: A.M. album, according to Motley Crue bassist and Sixx: A.M. brainchild Nikki Sixx.

«Really excited Taylor Hawkins is gonna play on some of the new @SixxAm album. What a honor cause he is one of my favorite drummers,» Sixx tweeted.

The band has released a pair of songs set to appear on the new untitled record via their Facebook, «Let It Haunt You» and «Relief.» The upcoming album will be the band’s third studio release, following 2007’s The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack and 2011’s This Is Gonna Hurt.

«I think SIXX: A.M. fans are going to love this record and I think new people will come in and be really surprised by it and become fans as well,» Sixx told Revolver. «I don’t think our first two records sound like the same type of record, but I do think there’s a sound with the band and I think we’re going to continue on that tradition.»

El codirector de Super Duper Alice Cooper, Reginald Harkema (Goon) está feliz de hablar de su participación en la nueva «ópera doc» que trata de la historia de Alice Cooper (leer la entrevista completa con él aquí), pero es su próximo proyecto, un documental sobre Soundgarden, lo que realmente le ha emocionado.

La película tiene el plan de reunir a Harkema con sus compañeros canadienses de Super Duper Alice Cooper,  Sam Dunn y Scot McFadyen, el dúo responsable de una serie de documentales de Heavy Metal, incluyendo Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey y Rush: Behind the Lighted Stage. Harkema previamente trabajó con el dúo como editor en la serie de televisión de VH1 Metal Evolution , durante el cual se acercó a participar en el documental de Cooper.

“Es un poco difícil porque están girando, pero Matt Cameron no está girando con ellos este verano porque tiene obligaciones en Pearl Jam» dice Harkema sobre Cameron, quien toca la batería para ambas bandas, Soundgarden y Pearl Jam. «Hay algunos conciertos clave donde Matt Cameron tocará, así que vamos a tratar de enviar cámaras para grabarlo. Para cuando vengan a Toronto, creo que ya habremos grabado algunas entrevistas con ellos.

La película se supone que se centrará en la totalidad de la carrera de la banda, desde sus primeros días en la escena club de Seattle, a través de su separación en los años 90, y su regreso con el lanzamiento del disco de 2012 King Animal.

Super Duper Alice Cooper co-director Reginald Harkema (Goon) is happy to discuss his participation in the new “doc opera” tracing the history of Alice Cooper (read our full interview with him here), but it’s his next project, a documentary on Soundgarden, that really has him excited.

The film is set to reunite Harkema with his fellow Canadian Super Duper Alice Cooper co-directors Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen, the duo responsible for a slew of heavy metal documentaries, including Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey and Rush: Behind the Lighted Stage. Harkema previously worked with the duo as an editor on VH1’s Metal Evolution television series, during which he was first approached to participate on the Cooper doc.

“It’s a little bit difficult because they’re touring, but Matt Cameron is not touring with them this summer because he’s got Pearl Jam commitments,” says Harkema of Cameron, who handless drumming duties for both Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. “There’s some key shows that Matt Cameron is going to be playing, so we’re going to be trying to send cameras out for that. But I think when they’re coming through Toronto, we’ve definitely got it scheduled in to get some interviews in with them.”

The film is set to focus on the entirety of the band’s career, from their early days in the Seattle club scene, through to their breakup in the 90’s, and their return with 2012’s King Animal release.
