When your name is Mudhoney, you tend to get things like mud thrown at you when it’s raining out. Onstage [at the ‘92 Reading Festival], Mark [Arm] was pelted in the face with a big mud ball by somebody who he had taunted and teased: ‘You guys don’t play baseball—you throw like a bunch of pussies.’ Got hit squarely in the face. Good times.

Cuando tu nombre es Mudhoney, tiendes a hacer las cosas como el barro cuando está lloviendo (No creo que sea así) . En el escenadio, en el Reading Festival del 92, Mark fue disparado por una bola de barro por alguien que se estaba burlando de él, y Mark dijo: Tíos… no juguéis a beisbol, lanzaís como un montón de coños (Lanzáis como maricones vamos xD) . When Tabitha Soren [from MTV News] came to Seattle, they filmed us playing the song ‘Pansy,’ which is about a serial killer that gives young girls candy, abducts them and then murders them. I don’t think she found any redeeming qualities in our music. She interviewed us, they filmed us playing the song, and then they left. I think she spent most of the time out in the van, shocked and disgusted.

Cuando Tabitha Soren (De las noticias de la MTV) vino a Seattle, nos grabaron mientras tocábamos «Pansy», que trata sobre un asesino en serie que da dulces a las niñas, luego las secuestraba y las mataba. Yo no pienso que ella se encontró demasiadas cualidades en nuestra música. Ella nos intrevistóm nos grabó tocando la canción y después se fueron. Creo que pasó la mayoria del tiempo en la furgoneta, sorprendida y disgustada

When [Cat Butt] were in New York, L7 were walking up ahead of us and all of a sudden the girls were being harassed by a group of Puerto Rican teenagers, all carrying backpacks. So Danny [Bland] and I step up to be the gentlemen and the protectors, and the kids whip hatchets out of their backpacks! One of the kids swings at Danny and breaks the bottom of his beer off. We were tripping on psychedelics, and at that point all the Cat Butt guys just started dying laughing. And then the girls started laughing. And then the guys with the hatchets started laughing. They put away their hatchets and walked away, laughing their heads off.

Cuando estuvimos en Nueva Yorkm L7, se estaban haciendo hueco y estaban por encima de nosotros, pero de repente las chicas estaba siendo acosados por un grupo de jóvenes de Puerto Rico. Así que Danny y yo pasamos a ser señores y protectos, y los chabales sacaron hachas de sus mochilas!. Uno de los chicos ¿zarandeó? a Danny y le rompió su cerveza. Gun’s N Roses abrió para los Fasbacks en junio de 1985 en Seattle’s Gorilla Gardens

We were horrible. We had a car with a trailer, which broke down in Bakersfield—that’s a long way from Seattle. So we hitchhiked with our guitars and used the Fastbacks’ gear. But it was great for me coming back to Seattle. That was our first real gig. Well, I think we
played a gig the night before we left, at Madame Wong’s East or something, to three people. In Seattle, we played to 12. There’s been thousands that said they were at that gig, but actually there were 12, and four of them were the Fastbacks.

Eramos horribles. teniamos un coche con un remolque, que se rompió en Bakersfield, que está a un buen trecho de Seattle. Así que hicimos Auto Stop con nuestras guitarras y usamos la mecánica de los fastbacks. pero fue bueno para mi volver a Seattle. este fue nuestra 1º actuación real. Bien, pienso que nosotros tocamos la noche anterior de irnos, en Madame Wong’s East o algo así, para tres personas. En Seattle, tocamos para 12. Había miles de personas que decian que estuvieron en ese concierto, pero en verdad habían 12… entre ellos los Fastbacks.
