Foo Fighters debut live a new song: “Outside”

En la serie de conciertos, más o menos secretos y con el nombre de The Holy Shits, que Foo Fighters han ido dando a través del Reino Unido, entre canción y canción Foo Fighters aprovecharon para tocar una nueva canción, “Outside”, que estará incluida en su nuevo disco, “Sonic Highways”. En los vídeos de abajo podéis ver como la mezclan con una de sus canciones más famosas, “The Pretender”.

Orígenes del vídeo

Ellos ya habían hecho dos actuaciones para vídeos para ese album, «Alive» y «Even Flow». Eso fue hace más de 20 años, el negocio era diferente entonces, la idea de hacer vídeo, y hacer que apareciesen en MTV para aumentar el número de ventas, era un auténtico negocio. El Grunge realmente había pegado fuerte por aquella época, así que eran momentos muy provechosos para los vídeos y la música. No creo que estuvieran aprensivos, estaban bastante de acuerdi con  lo que escribí. Les dije: ‘No quiero tener a la banda tocando. «Y ellos estaban como,’ Guay, no hay necesidad de ello. ‘Estaban como,’ Bueno, sería genial si Eddie cantase. «Y yo estaba como, ‘Fuck yeah!’ fueron muy favorables y guays, Estuve en el lugar correcto en el momento adecuado, y trabajé muy duro en ese video. Trabajé duro para ponerme con ello, y escribirlo. Todavía me da escalofríos; es una canción jodidamente increíble.

Origins Of The Video

They had made two performance videos from that album, “Alive” and “Even Flow.” That was over 20 years ago, the business was different then, the idea of making videos, and getting them played on MTV to spur record sales, was a huge deal. Grunge had really kind of shaken the cob webs off of the music business, so it was a very fertile times for videos and music. I don’t think they were apprehensive, they were pretty much on board with what I wrote. I said, ‘I don’t want to have the band play.’ They were like, ‘Cool, we don’t even need to be in it.’ They were [then] like, ‘Well, it would be great if Eddie was singing.’ I was like, ‘Fuck yeah!’ They were super supportive and cool, I was just in the right place at the right time, and worked really hard on that video. I worked hard at putting myself into it, and writing it. It still gives me chills; it’s a fucking amazing song.
