Bueno, te sientas ahí y compones tedio a lo Queens Of The Stone Age durante un mes y simplemente no pasa nada, no pasa nada – no es que Queens Of The Stone Age sean una mierda pero la gente espera mucho más de mi. Josh Homme puede tocar como cuatro notas al bajo y la gente se quita el sombrero pero por la razón que sea yo tengo un listón más alto. Tiene que ser jodidamente bueno. Así que empecé a tocar con Patty (Schemel) y Melissa (Auf Der Maur) y Eric (Erlandson) para ver como era, para ver si sacábamos algo matador.

CL: Well, you sit and you write like, Queens Of The Stone Age drudge for a month, and it’s just not happening, and it’s not happening – not that Queens Of The Stone Age suck, but people expect a lot more from me. Josh Homme can play like, four notes on his bass and people take off their tops, but I have a higher bar for whatever reason. It has to be just fucking really really good. So, then I started playing with Patty [Schemel] and Melissa [Auf der Maur] and Eric [Erlandson], just to see how that was, if we got anything killer happening.

Dave Grohl fans launch campaign for Foo Fighters to play hometown show

Los fans están haciendo campaña en el sitio de crowdfunding Crowdhoster, y han recaudado 8400$ para escribir al cantante de la banda en un intento para que el rockero de una actuación de regreso a casa por primera vez en 15 años. Están vendiendo 1.400 entradas – pero la banda está tan lejos que no participará en el show.

«Es muy sencillo. Los Foo Fighters no han tocado en Richmond, Virginia, desde el 17 de mayo de 1998,» se puede leer en la página oficial de la campaña .»Eso fue hace más de 15 años y eso es demasiado tiempo. ¡Así que estamos dando mucho de nosotros mismos para traerlos de vuelta!»

En declaraciones a SPIN, el co-fundador de la campaña Andrew Goldin dijo:. «Simplemente somos unos cuantos amigos y fans que buscan que esto suceda … se nos ocurrió la idea y pensamos que sería una maravilla tratar de traer a la banda. Parece que están en un momento suficientemente bueno como para que esto pueda suceder

Las entradas podrán costar 50$ … para un concierto que no ha sido confirmado. Sin embargo, Goldin mantiene la esperanza. «Tenemos razones para creer que saben de eso en este momento», dijo. «No nos han callado, así que eso es una buena señal, ¿no?»

Goldin también confirma que si el concierto no se da, todo el dinero será devuelto a aquellos que donaron.

Campaigners on crowdfunding site Crowdhoster have raised $8400 at times of writing in an attempt to have the rocker play a homecoming show for the first time in 15 years. They’re selling 1,400 tickets – but the band is so far not involved in the show.

«It’s simple. The Foo Fighters haven’t played Richmond, Virginia since May 17, 1998,» the Bring Foo Fighters Back To RVA campaign page reads. «That’s more than 15 years ago and that’s way too long. So we’re taking it upon ourselves to bring ‘em back!»

Speaking to SPIN, the campaign’s co-founder Andrew Goldin said: «We’re just a few friends and fans looking to make this happen…Came up with the idea and thought it would be a blast to try. The band seems to have so much fun with themselves that we really think it may happen.»

Tickets will set fans back $50…for a show that hasn’t been confirmed. Yet Goldin remains hopeful. «We have reason to believe they know about it at this point,» he said. «We haven’t been shut down, so that’s a good sign, right?»

Goldin also confirms if the show doesn’t happen, all money will be returned to those who donated.
