Pearl Jam tiene la esperanza de poder sacar su disco «este año, seguro,» ha contado el guitarrista Mike McCready a Rolling Stone. Mientras prepara su viaje a Nueva Orleans, donde él tocará «The Star-Spangled Banner» y correrá una media maratón en apoyo de su buen amigo Steve Gleason, el componente de New Orleans Saint, McCready dice que sus compañeros de banda están «trabajando en demos ahora mismo, vamos a empezar a grabar bien pronto».

Aunque él aún es reticente a catalogar el ábum – «porque lo que yo diga no tendrá ningún sentigo hasta que lo escuchéis» – nos da algunos detalles.
«Diré como respuesta cliché que es una continuación logica de lo que fue Backspacer» nos dice. «Pero creo que hay un poco más de material experimental en él. Hay un tono a Pink Floyd en él, hay un aire a punk rock también en algunas canciones.»

Pearl Jam hope to have their next album out «this year, for sure,» guitarist Mike McCready tells Rolling Stone. Preparing to travel to New Orleans, where he will perform «The Star-Spangled Banner» and run a half-marathon in support of his close friend Steve Gleason, the former New Orleans Saint, McCready says the bandmembers are «working on demos right now and we’re going to be recording soon.
«What everybody’s been saying is halfway done,» he says of the follow-up to 2009’s Backspacer. «I think that’s true – we have seven songs that are relatively completed. But then we have an additional 15 ready to go aside from any that Eddie brings in, so we’ll weed through those.»
Though he’s reluctant to categorize the album just yet – «because what I can say won’t make any sense until you hear it» – he can offer a few details.
«I would say as a cliché answer it’s kind of a logical extension of what Backspacer was,» he says. «But I think there’s a little bit more experimental stuff going on. There’s a Pink Floyd vibe to some of it, there’s a punk rock edge to other stuff.»

Dave Grohl ha confirmado que los Foo Fighters comenzarán a trabajar en su octavo álbum de estudio ESTA SEMANA!
En el pasado octubre Grohl confirmó en una carta abierta a los fans que los Foos iban a «desaparecer por un tiempo» mientras que él centraba su tiempo en su película Sound City.
Sin embargo, los temores de una larga interrupción se anularon el mes pasado, cuando Grohl reveló que la banda ya había escrito material para un octavo álbum .
Y anoche en los Brit Awards, Grohl dijo al presentador James Corden: «Vuelvo a Los Ángeles mañana para empezar a trabajar en un disco de Foo Fighters.»
El cómico le pregunto cuándo el material vería la luz del día, Grohl ha añadido: «Con el tiempo».

Dave Grohl has confirmed that Foo Fighters will start work on their eighth studio album THIS WEEK!
Just last October Grohl confirmed in an open letter to fans that the Foos were going to “go away for a while” while he focused his time on his Sound City movie, album and live shows.
However, fears of a lengthy hiatus were quashed last month when Grohl revealed the band had already written material for an eighth album.
And last night at the industry back-patting borefest that was The BRIT Awards, Grohl told show host James Corden: «I return to Los Angeles tomorrow to start work on a Foo Fighters record.”
Asked by the comedian when the material would see the light of day, Grohl added: “Eventually.”
