CANDLEBOX vuelven a estar de candente actualidad este verano ya que han anunciado planes para una gira de verano – otoño con el objetivo de celebrar el 20º aniversario del album «Lucy».
Lanzado en 1995, «Lucy» fue el sucesor del álbum debut de CANDLEBOX, y consiguió el disco de oro gracias a canciones como «Simple Lessons», «Best Friend» y la que da nombre al disco.
La gira, que empezará el 23 de julio en Lake Charles, Louisiana y se extenderá hasta el otoño, contará con los «hits» de Lucy así como también con las canciones favoritas de los fans.
Hablando de otro asunto, CANDLEBOX han confirmado un cambio en su formación. Después de más de veinte años destrozando la carretera y creando gran música juntos, Peter Klett y Scott Mercado han decidido tomarse un descanso y no girar más con CANDLEBOX . La separación ha sido amigable, Klett y Mercado han decidido dar tiempo completo a LOTUS CRUSH y a sus otros proyectos paralelos.
«Estoy impresionado al ver que Pete y Scott estén teniendo tanto éxito con LOTUS CRUSH y sus otros proyectos. No les deseo otra cosa que lo mejor», dice Kevin Martin, cantante principal de CANDLEBOX.
Klett añade: «Es la hora; no hay nada más grande que tocar la música que has creado delante de fans que aman eso con su corazón y alma. Eso es lo que hemos hecho con CANDLEBOX durante más de 20 años. La gente maravillosa que nos ha apoyado lo ha hecho con clase. Por eso, Scott y yo estamos extremadamente agradecidos.»
La formación de CANDLEBOX continúa con su actual bajista y guitarrista Adam Kury, el batería Dave Krusen, que tocó con CANDLEBOX desde 1996 a 2001 y que esttuvo en PEARL JAM y que aparece en el icónico álbum «Ten», Mike Leslie y el guitarrista de FOSTERCHILD Brian Quinn, que ha sido compañero de sello y amigo de la banda durante muchos años.

CANDLEBOX is reigniting the flame this summer as it announces plans for a summer and fall tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band’s sophomore album, «Lucy».
Released in 1995, «Lucy» was the successful follow-up to CANDLEBOX‘s debut and achieved gold certification thanks to songs like «Simple Lessons», «Best Friend» and the title track.
The tour, which will kick off July 23 in Lake Charles, Louisiana and run through the fall, will feature hits from «Lucy» as well as fan favorites.
In other news, CANDLEBOX has confirmed a lineup change. After twenty-plus years of rocking the road and creating great music together, Peter Klett and Scott Mercado have decided to take a break from touring with CANDLEBOX. Parting ways amicably, Klett and Mercado have decided to devote their careers full time to LOTUS CRUSH and their other side projects.
«I’m stoked that Pete and Scott are having such great success with LOTUS CRUSH and their other projects. I wish them nothing but the best,» said Kevin Martin, lead singer for CANDLEBOX.
Klett added: «It’s time; there is nothing greater than playing music you’ve created in front of fans who love it with their heart and soul. That is what we have done with CANDLEBOX for 20-plus years. The wonderful people who have embraced us have done it with class. For that, Scott and I are extremely grateful.»
The CANDLEBOX lineup continues with current member Adam Kury on bass and guitar, drummer Dave Krusen, who played with CANDLEBOX from 1996-2001 and was in PEARL JAM and was featured on the iconic «Ten» album, Mike Leslie and FOSTERCHILD guitarist Brian Quinn, who was labelmates and friends with Martin for years.
